Jorge Batres, born in Mexico, never lived a wealthy nor comfortable life growing up in the US. Katie Batres, although born into the middle class, realized at a young age that money was handled very carelessly all around her. Both of their upbringings were different, however still had them end up in the same position by their adulthood: Working hard, while still struggling to live a decent and independent life.
